Can I Extend My Ski Boot Calf

Skeleton Creek, Patrick Carman

Hello, bloggers! What that all?
Today I bring you a review of a novella that I showed in the last IMM, which was eager to read but has not yet fully convinced. I tell you why!

◆ Name: Skeleton Creek.
◆ Author: Patrick Carman .
Editorial: Bruño.
Gender: Thriller / terror.
◆ Number of pages: 193.

Ryan is afraid, very afraid. With a broken leg and the prohibition of seeing his best friend under threat of changing city, Ryan tells us in his diary what happened that day in the dredge, and what does not let you remember for sure what happened to truth. What did he see. Through
passwords that her friend Sarah sends in secret Ryan see the dredge and the terrible secret that lies behind the huge machine left . Because nothing is as it seems in Skeleton Creek.

If there is anything that stands out in this novel, is undoubtedly format. Skeleton Creek, the first novel in a trilogy by Patrick Carman, certainly has been known for its curious way of telling the story; we must not only read but also see . And is that Ryan, our protagonist, has been forbidden to talk to Sarah again, so she will have to communicate with him through videos that hangs on the Internet at a secret password we will in each chapter.

While this way of telling the story is very original and curious, I see also a clear disadvantage if you have a slow connection or you do not have direct Internet access, since half the book comes in the videos, and if we can not see it is very difficult that we know what we want to tell. I have been fortunate to have a fairly stable and good connection, so I had no problems and I could "enjoy" the video. And I put it in quotes because from the second video, I've seen the rest with great fear xD. However, thanks them we can get an idea of \u200b\u200bwhat the players physically, is also an original way of writing a book and, all told, has had to assume much more effort than writing a novel would have been normal period.

But it is remarkable not only the use of video as a means to tell the novel. I also liked that the novel itself is not a novel but a newspaper that has written Ryan, and where he expresses his feelings and what she discovers, passwords Sarah's videos, e-mails and so on. So, I also like the fact that Ryan said in certain parts of the novel "hopes that someone finds the diary if something has happened" , and we can feel somewhat in the history . Besides being written in diary form is very fast and easy to read, so that ate an evening -if you are calm enough not to watch the videos a funk, not as I ... xD.

However, this book is not just convinced me for many reasons , which, of course, are not related to the form. The originality of the format, albeit with occasional inconvenience made it up to score points I was going to put on the content, which I found a bit disappointing in proportion to the reviews I've read.

could say that Skeleton Creek is a novel with much intrigue, much mystery and many loose ends where none is solved. And when I say none, I mean as much to two of forty. Because it is so; when I finished I was like when I started. Because, apart from having a confusing start, the players are limited to visiting the dredge to delve further into the mystery, unfinished make nothing of it. Let's see, I can understand that is not autoconclusivos book, I can also understand that we want to stop the plot to read the following, but is that not even that. I mean, I have no desire to read the next book because at first it clear there is nothing, just a little something from all that is left open. Starting next book would be like starting over again with the series, because I'm like when I started.

drawbacks to keep saying I'm going to get with the characters. Ryan and Sarah, who are the stars, get us into the mystery pretty well, but Carman has deepened virtually nothing in them. That is, we do not know just their feelings or his life, only know a little more of Ryan and because we scored a bit in the newspaper. The fact that the writer has deleted these details can be inconvenient and time a success: the novel lost a lot of depth that could have acquired a very good starting base, such as history, but turn off straw to delve fully into the mystery and make it a thin book, quick read and quite entertaining. I, due to my personal tastes, I would have opted for deepening , but perhaps someone who is looking for something fast and light prefer the latter.

Well it seems that Skeleton Creek I have not liked anything, but it is not. Although I'm quite disgusted by the issue of loose ends, I must say that this is a novel engaging, addictive and entertained, they are read on a rainy afternoon, pull . I think history, as it was, could have given more of himself , adding a few pages deeper and tying ropes a bit, it made me very short. But yes, of course read the second part, because I trust that will advance a little more and understand better what dredging occurs. For me personally, Skeleton Creek has not convinced me, but perhaps the fact that very little I like scary stories has influenced my score. So still, I recommend .

Ultimately, a book for those who like mystery and have nothing to do an evening at home, and Internet xD. Recommended , not so much as I expected, but I recommend it.

Many thanks to Bruno for sending the copy.

PS Hall Hex almost finished. I still have only three chapters, in short you will have the review! And I started Together . Let's see if I just suddenly Beautiful Darkness ... I did not finish it xD or backward, I have abandonadísimo. A kiss to everyone!
